EEOC Extends EEO-1 Deadline

The EEOC has announced the deadline for filing the 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Reports has been extended to August 23, 2021.

EEOC LGBTQ Resources

On June 15, 2021, the EEOC announced published LGBTQ resources, also marking the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court of the United States’ decision in Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia, in which the Court ruled that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. 

DC Minimum Wage Increase

On July 1, 2021 the minimum wage for all DC employees will increase to $15.20 per hour, and the tipped minimum wage goes up to $5.05. Make sure that your payroll systems reflects these new rates. Also, you should post the updated DOES poster. You can find it here.

Chicago Minimum Wage Increase

The minimum wage in Chicago will increase to $11 per hour for nontipped employees on July 1. The minimum wage for nontipped employees in Cook County, however, will remain the same because the county’s unemployment rate during the prior year was greater than 8.5%.
